Bloggin’ Mamas is coming to the Toy Fair in NYC!!! Not only do we have a chapter of mamas there, but our Head Mama in Charge Heather Lopez, will also be in town with her family. That’s because she was nominated for the Women In Toys Social Influencer Award for all of the work her and Bloggin’ Mamas have been doing with movies & entertainment this past year.
WIT (Women in Toys, Licensing & Entertainment), celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, is the leading global networking organization for professional women in the toy, licensing and entertainment industries. Each year, they host the Wonder Women Awards Gala as both a fundraiser for their foundation, and as a chance to honor the leading women in the industry.
Now in its 12th year, the gala will honor nominees in the following categories:
- Retailer of the Year
- Manufacturer
- Designer/Inventor
- Licensing/Entertainment
- Rising Star
- Social Responsibility
- Marketing
- PR
- Social Influencer
The Social Influencer category is a new category designed to recognize those individuals who have the most influence over potential buyers. This includes audience reach, expertise and credibility, and the strength of relationship with their followers. Nominee examples are journalists, bloggers, YouTube vloggers, industry analysts, celebrities and brand advocates.
Heather was nominated for this award alongside Melissa & Gracie Hunter from the Mommy & Gracie Show, Melanie Notkin from Savvy Auntie, and Natalie Diaz from Twiniversity.
According to Fortune Magazine, there was a 9.4% increase in toy sales with film tie-ins in 2015. We’ve been doing a lot of work with movies, shows and toys related to movies & shows, like Star Wars and Care Bears! Heather and her daughter are also Care Bears Share Your Care Ambassadors.
